MultiCAT and catalyticFOAM Showcased at International Symposium on Modeling of Exhaust-Gas After-Treatment

MCE is pleased to announce that results generated using MultiCAT 1.0 and catalyticFOAM were presented by Prof. Matteo Maestri during the plenary lecture at the International Symposium on Modeling of Exhaust-Gas After-Treatment (MODEGAT VIII – September 21-23, 2025 in Bad Herrenalb/ Karlsruhe, Germany), bringing together researchers and industry experts to share advances in modeling, experimental techniques, and catalytic systems.
In his plenary talk, Prof. Maestri discussed a multiscale and multi-technique approach to the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) of NOx, integrating experimental methods such as operando spectroscopy and transient kinetics with computational modeling.
The results shown included applications of MultiCAT 1.0 and catalyticFOAM to illustrate reactor performance predictions under realistic conditions, highlighting the strengths of both tools in modeling kinetics, spectroscopy, and transport phenomena at reactor scale.
These results underscore the capability of MultiCAT 1.0 and catalyticFOAM to contribute to state-of-the-art research in catalytic after-treatment and process intensification.
